Guest Speaker - Biographic Notes

  

Guy Poirier started doing photography while in high school and was yearbook photographer for a year. He had always worked with film but finally transitionned to digital just over a year ago.

Guy graduated from Algonquin in 1980 from the broadcasting program. He has freelanced, worked for CBC-TV and later for a corporate audio-visual rental company. For the past twenty years he's been at Saint Paul University as their AV tech and takes care of all technical aspects of AV and multimedia production as well as videoconferencing.

Guy says, "My interest in aviation goes to when I was a child. Being a pilot was a career choice I had considered but due to a hearing impairement, was not a viable choice. I have been doing aviation photography for about three years now and more often since I got my digital SLR."
